Michael Guidry has served as curator of Public Art of the University of Houston System since 2005. His work since that time has included an array of collection stewardship activities in addition to the completion of 26 major projects across the UH System. 

With an art career spanning over 20 years, Guidry joined UH from the New Orleans Museum of Art. There he served as the assistant registrar and curator of traveling exhibitions. Guidry has served on the Houston Arts Alliance’s Civic Art & Design Committee and served as chair of the Lawndale Art Center’s Programming Committee. He has curated independent projects in Houston and New Orleans, and has served as a juror on numerous national public art panels. Guidry received his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and his MFA from the University of Houston.
