Thrills, 2010

Since 1974, Hill and Bloom have collaborated as MANUAL. This series employs their skill in digital manipulation while using the historical genre of still life, reminding the viewer of the importance of books and their susceptibility to neglect. Using wordplay and humor, they regard this project as “romantic engagement” with the literary canon rather than reading.
