CANCELLED: Public Art Studio – March
Mar 14 2020,
Wilhelmina's Grove, 3333 Cullen Blvd, Houston TX 77204, University of Houston

In the interest of safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve across the greater Houston area, Public Art UHS will be cancelling all scheduled tours and programs through the end of April. Updates regarding additional programs will be posted on social media and on our website.

Every second Saturday of the month, from February to April 2020, Public Art UHS will host family-friendly art-making activities inspired by Marta Chilindrón’s Mobius Houston, the inaugural installation of our new Temporary Public Art Program. This interactive studio series is a fun and exciting program where artists of all ages can explore their own unique creative abilities and learn more about the public art on view at the University of Houston. Workshops are 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Wilhelmina’s Grove in the university’s Arts District. Debra Barrera, a local artist and Public Art’s education coordinator, will facilitate the workshops. Activities suitable for ages 4 and up. The series is free and exclusively for everyone.

What will you create? Teleidoscopes! What are these? Teleidoscopes are just like Kaleidoscopes but they are open ended allowing the viewer to see the world in a fantastic array of patterns and shapes. Public Art Studio goers will have the chance to go up to Mobius Houston and experience it in a completely fun and new way. They are welcome to use these new eyes to visit other artworks on campus as well!

Please RSVP here.

Metered visitor parking can be found in front of the Moores Opera House at the Zone B parking lot or across campus.
