Geology and Public Art with Dr. Jinny Sisson

Join geologist and instructional professor Jinny Sisson to learn about the material and method behind stone artworks on the University of Houston campus! 

From the Black Cambrian granite of Matt Mullican’s Untitled (1991) to the fossils embedded in The Art Guys’ Statue of Four Lies (2010), Dr. Sisson provides unique insights into the artistic process through the lens of a geologist.

Tours are always free and open to the public!

Metered visitor parking is available in Lot 16C near the Moores Opera House (3333 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77004.) UH students, faculty and staff with a valid parking pass, regardless of assigned zone, can park in Lot 16 (Zone B) during evenings and weekends free of charge.
