Research Resources on Collection Artists

The University of Houston is an important destination for scholars, students and others
interested in the work of artists and artist groups represented in the collection of Public Art UHS. Acquisition records and documents specific to their creative process and commissions are available through our archives. Our holdings are complemented by personal papers, studio records, ephemera, works on paper and related materials held at UH Libraries Special Collections. Together,
these research resources provide a robust picture of the creativity, art and thought of many Public Art UHS collection artists, among them: The Art Guys (Michael Galbreth, 1953-2019 and Jack Massing, b. 1959), Dorothy Hood (1918-2000), Bert L. Long, Jr. (1940-2013), MANUAL (Suzanne Bloom, b. 1943 and Ed Hill, b. 1935), Al Souza (b.1944) and Andy Warhol (1928-87).
