Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are a dynamic group of undergraduate students at UH System universities. They facilitate engaging art experiences for our diverse audiences, lead virtual and in-person tours as well as support most of our public-facing activities.

Student Ambassadors attend trainings and regular meetings throughout the semester. In addition, they develop independent cross-disciplinary research projects in their fields of interest. Through their experience in this role, Student Ambassadors develop hands-on transferable skills in problem solving,  research, public speaking, communication and collaboration.

Student Ambassadors are recruited yearly through a formal application process. All undergraduate students are invited to apply, irrespective of their major or area of study. Students do not need prior experience to apply. However, we seek students who are reliable, intellectually curious, passionate about the arts, and interested in sharing their knowledge with others. A commitment of at least one academic year is required. Students receive a stipend for 6-8 hours of work per week through the academic year.

The application deadline for the 2022-23 academic year is Monday, September 12, 2022. For more information, please email pauhsEDU@uh.edu.

Student Ambassadors are supported by the Cougar Initiative to Engage (CITE), which is the University of Houston’s Quality Enhancement Plan to increase the number of high-impact co-curricular learning activities and the number of undergraduate students participating in these activities. Co-curricular learning activities provide students with direct real-world experience, preparing them for success in their lives and careers. CITE is an opportunity to have a truly transformative impact on students and the broader university community.
